The Centre for Research in Social Policy (CRSP) at Loughborough University was commissioned by SureStart Loughborough East (and NCH) to conduct a baseline study of views of parents with young children living in the SureStart Loughborough East catchment area. The purpose of the baseline study was to identify, at the start of the SureStart programme, views and experiences of existing services for families with young children and to identify areas for improvement. The findings of the study are being used to feed in to
the development of the local SureStart programme.

The report covers usage and satisfaction with services such as health and transport, and general attitudes to local health and welfare services. Views about accessing health related services, advice and information is also included, as well as respondents’ awareness of existing services and any services or facilities identified for improvement.
